Schedule your facial filler appointment at least four weeks prior to a special event, as bruising and swelling may be apparent for up to two weeks after your treatment. Avoid alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to treatment, as it can thin the blood and increase the risk of bruising.
Avoid anti-inflammatory and blood-thinning medications, if possible, for a period of a week before treatment.

Arrive at your appointment with a clean face - please do not wear makeup, tinted moisturizer, sunscreen, etc. which may interfere with the procedure. If instructed, apply numbing cream to the treatment areas 15- 20 minutes prior to your appointment time.

After your filler treatment the results will be apparent immediately. Bruising and swelling may be visible initially and will fade over the next 7 to 14 days. Applying clean, cool compresses to the treatment area helps to reduce swelling. Please do not apply make-up over injection points for 24 hours following the procedure.

In the rare case of undesirable results or adverse event, an antidote can be administered to reverse the effects of treatment partially or fully. Hyaluronic acid (HA) based fillers can be dissolved with a product called Hyaluronidase (Hylenex). This is an enzyme that can take up to two weeks to work. It functions by breaking down the bonds of HA. Common reasons for the filler to be dissolved include product migration, lumps and bumps, and emergency reversal. Just like there are risks or adverse events associated with injecting dermal filler, hyaluronidase itself is not risk free as it can cause temporary discomfort of injection, redness, swelling, bruising and very rarely allergy.
